Erin came to me looking for images that she could use on her website and social media channels to promote her work as a speaker, author and a coach. We set up the studio in colours that worked with her branding, brought in a hair and makeup artist and started in the studio. Since then, we did a second session on location to add some variety to her image library. Now, we are looking at a third session to promote her new podcast!! It’s great working with a repeat client as it allows for us to create an image library that works well together. Plus, the more we work together, the more comfortable we are with each other which allows for more relaxed and natural imagery.

Personal Branding Session | Calgary Photographer
The third type of session that I will be offering during my annual BLACK FRIDAY sale is a PERSONAL BRANDING SESSION. Now, what is a personal branding session? Well, if you have ever said to yourself ‘hey, I really need new headshots, but I could also use some other images that aren’t so formal’…then, a personal branding session is for you. It can(and usually does) include headshots, but it also includes capturing images of you that you can use in your online presence—whether that is for your social media or your website. These are only for ONE person…so, if you are looking for photography for a team of people, that is something different. But, if you are a solopreneur, online influencer, or just wish you had images of you doing something you love, then a PERSONAL BRANDING SESSION is what you need.
When I do a branding session, I really like to take the time to get to know and understand what we can create together that best showcases your personality and goals. I believe the key to this is in planning our session with a list of specific shots or goals so that, when we are all done, you aren’t left wishing for more. The session can take place in my studio or on location. Often, people book multiple sessions per year which is also great if you want to build a branding media library. And, this BLACK FRIDAY, there will be 10 of these sessions available for $500(+gst). That will include the session plus the complete set of digital images. Naturasoy is a candle company located in Okotoks, AB -- not far from my photography studio! I have one of their man candles sitting right on my desk because I love the smell of it so much. I know I'm not a man, but MAN OH MAN it smells awesome!!! Their owner, Colleen, is an inspiring female entrepreneur, so when she asked me to come in and document their candle making process, I was super excited!!!! I spent the morning with them taking some documentary images of their candlemaking process, as well as, taking some time to create some branding images for them.
Small businesses today need lots of images for their website, as well as social media. I truly think that it is best to work with one photographer so that you can create a consistent look to the images. Plus, it allows you to collaborate with another creative, small business owner who is also trying to navigate the fuzzy waters of this new media world. I'd love to work with other small businesses who would be interested in a collaboration.
