US 2012
I didn't pick up my camera as much as I normally do in 2012...These are the ones that inspired me the most as I was searching for favourites. Bob(my husband) took one, but I loved it so much I included it...you should be able to see which one he took.
And, this wouldn't be complete without my favourite project from the year(although, I am making one from Christmas, but I am not finished yet)...Miss G donates her hair...

Favorite Family Images From 2012
2012 was a long year for me...large stretches of time doing personal work or taking care of personal business. Lots of self reflection and learning have left me more critical of my own work than ever before. Which is good...and bad. To sit and sift through all of my sessions from 2012 was a good thing. I thought I'd share a few that caught my eye...
I realized in doing this that I have so many sessions that I haven't blogged...so a lot of these images are being seen here for the first time(aside from me and the families in them)...in the next couple of days, I promise to share my own favourites from my personal work(this might take more than one post) and my favourites from the weddings and couple sessions I have done. Which ones are your favourites?

Merry Christmas
The last time I asked for nominations of families who may need some 'Christmas Cheer', I got a handful of stories. All of which touched my heart. But, this year...I was constantly moved to tears while I read the many stories of families nominated. Children who lost their parents. Parents who lost their children. Friends who did amazing things for people they barely knew. How would I choose? I mean seriously? And, I can't believe that I was feeling down about my own year...reading these stories of amazing strength and love reminded me that even in the worst of times, there is goodness.
So, I finally chose a family. A family who is in the midst of treatment for one of their children who suffers from a rare form of leukaemia. They live in St. Albert, but half of them live in Calgary while the treatment happens...a family I had heard about before on Facebook and in the news back in St. Albert. Kurt and Deana Popowich and their two lovely children. Merry Christmas to you...I look forward to showing you what your love looks like. I know that it is amazing.
And, to all of my amazing clients and followers...from the bottom of my heart--THANK YOU!!!! I hope that this Christmas is the merriest of times for you...and that 2013 brings you many moments of great joy.
