Summer Isn't Over Yet!!!
This summer in Southern Alberta has seemed...well...slow to arrive. It is definitely finally here...just in time for the kiddos to go back to school in a couple of weeks ;) These are from my contest back in June. We all got together on one of the most gorgeous nights of the summer and had some water fun. I plan to use these images on my new amazing branding that is creeping closer to being done. I can't wait to share it with you all. Until then, here are some of my favourites from this session to share with you all.
I had such fun with this contest, I am already planning my next one. It should launch in the next couple of weeks so WATCH FOR IT!!!
I'm slowly getting caught up on sharing some of my new work. I have lots of great sessions to share...watch the blog and my Facebook page :) And, if you are planning on having a session this fall, I have very few spots left before Thanksgiving...so, act fast!!

Lake Lot Love
I love these sorts of shots...All three kids in one frame doing their own thing. This session fed my soul and there are so many that I'd like to share. But, when I took this shot, I knew right as the moment happened that it was special :) People often ask me about how I get images like this. Here it is in a nutshell. I wait. I just let them do their thing and I keep releasing the shutter hoping that a great moment will happen. Does it take a long time? Yes. But, in the end, I think it is worth the wait. I love taking risks in photography. This is shot after sunset. We were pretty far north so the sky stays a little bit light for a long time, but it was getting dark in earnest. We were definitely almost done. I cranked up my ISO. I have no rules for myself about the ISO being too high. I'm not taking a perfect portrait. I'm taking a true portrait ;) And sometimes the truth is...it's dark and my ISO needs to be cranked up ;)
So...which kid's little moment is your favourite in this image? Together, but separate...brothers. Taken at Cold Lake, AB.

Then and Now
Remember this beauty? She's getting bigger, but she still gives me the same look ;) And, I loved this one of her looking up to her big sister... I love seeing families grow.

PS--a note about availability. September is filling fast. Weekend spots are nearly full. Please contact me soon if you are hoping to get in to my calendar for a session with the beautiful fall colours. Also, a note that I'll be in Edmonton the first week in August and have room for one more session while I am there. Thanks.
