Calgary Graduation Photographer, Class of 2021
It’s that time of year—GRADUATION SEASON!!! And, if we have learned anything from the last year and a bit, it’s that giving ourselves some time to just ENJOY life is the thing we all need more of in our lives!! In that spirit, I think graduation sessions should be just that…no need to rush around on the day of the ceremony…take a day all by itself for photographs to celebrate your graduate!! And, let’s celebrate these kids!! They DESERVE IT!! So, I would love to chat with you about how to make the session extra special for your graduate!
This is Gracie. She is graduating this year and heading to UBC in the fall. I celebrated with her the other day in the sunshine and the blossoms. Every single person stopped to tell her how gorgeous she looked(I mean—COME ON!! sooooo gorgeous!!). And, I took my time to create the images she deserves. A wonderful mix of traditional portraits and quirky artsy stuff. CONGRATULATIONS Gracie!!

Lovies Studio Session | Okotoks Family Photographer
I remember when Brian the Lion was a staple at our house. He was a small bear stuffie with a rattle inside and he came EVERYWHERE with us. We had bought him early on in my pregnancy so we feared losing him….how would we ever find a replacement? We never did lose him, but he did, eventually, get tucked away in a special memory box. His fur worn thin from so much love. I know so many families have attachment to special items like Brian the Lion and I would love to document that special bond for you. Introducing The Lovies Sessions!! New to the studio this year. Weekday mini sessions designed to document your child when they are at that age where they don’t go anywhere without their favourite toy or blanket.
To celebrate the launch of this new session offering. On Sunday, March 7th, I am opening a limited number of these sessions. They are $295(+gst). That includes a 30 minute session with up to 3 children from the same household and the complete set of digital images. Plus, you will have access to my brand new online store with a line up of amazing professional products. Contact me now to grab your preferred time slot.
Twin Sisters from the Class of 2020 | Calgary Graduation Photographer
Last year, with the COVID restrictions affecting every graduation celebration, I saw many families looking to find a way to enjoy the event. This family had twins who were set to graduate from high school in Okotoks. So, we did a twin session. This session gave them a chance to wear their gowns, but it also gave them a chance to wear their everyday clothes for some more casual portraits together too.
I know that for most Calgary and area graduates this year, your celebrations will look a bit different yet again. I would love to talk to you about what portraits could look like for your child(and your family). I have a variety of options available. One really nice thing about this year is that you don’t have to rush to try and fit everything into one day. I know that most families here try to do that, but this is the perfect excuse to slow down celebrations and make them less rushed/stressful for everyone. If you have a grad in your life that you would like to celebrate, I’d love to chat with you about what that could look like.
And—in case you missed it—I’m currently giving away a full graduation portrait session(a $750+gst value). Nominate a special graduate in your life by going here(nominations close on Feb. 12th at midnight):

Okotoks Studio Photography
I love watching families grow. I photographed their wedding back in 2017(you can see the blog post here: https://www.danapughphotography.com/blog/2017/11/1/canyon-ski-resort-wedding-calgary-photographer ). This summer, I got to meet their adorable little man in my studio for some family photographs. It is honestly one of the greatest joys of my life seeing families over and over again as they grow and change. And, then, right after I sent them their gallery, I ran into them at D Dutchmen Dairy in Sicamous!!! I mean, when in Sicamous, you gotta stop there—am I right?
I just wanted to share a studio session with everyone so that you can see that they aren’t stuffy at all ;) Very relaxed and fun, just safe from any inclement weather. And, now, in the days of COVID, I am taking all sorts of precautions—including increasing the airflow by keeping the windows open during the session, wearing a mask, hand sanitizer and fully sanitizing between each session(this last bit is nothing new…I’ve always done that). So, if you are looking for something a bit different than fall leaves for your annual portrait session this year, a studio session is a great option!!
